Kelly Clarkson has been trying to distance herself from the 2003 critical flop From Justin to Kelly, the musical film which she was roped into doing following her success in the American Idol competition.
“Two words: Contractually obligated!” she revealed to Time magazine.
“I knew when I read the script it was going to be real, real bad, but when I won, I signed that piece of paper, and I could not get out of it,” she continued. But she’s not complaining about everything. Her second album, Breakaway, contains four top 10 hits and earned her two Grammy nominations for the ceremony which she’ll be attending this week. “Seriously, I never thought I could act, but I knew I could sing. ”

Clarkson has split with her original team 19 Entertainment, the management firm that has the right to sign any Idol contestant. She seems much happier with her new company, The Firm, who are giving her less exposure in the hope that she will become a long-term money-spinner.
She has been nominated for best pop vocal performance and best pop vocal album. She is currently filming the video for Walk Away, the new single form the Breakaway album in Los Angeles.
