Argentina: Kapanga!

Secret Argentina PageKapanga!

They’re banging their heads to the sound old favourites Kapanga again in Argentina. Currently topping the charts is their latest release “Rock”, which reflects, as ever, the groups adventurous commitment to the fusion of, amongst other things, reggae, hardcore, rock and pop.

Listen to Esta! The band was formed in 1989 by singer Martín el Mono (Martin the Monkey) and Marcelo Balde and was originally named Kapanga y sus Yacerés. After an acrimonious split, the band reformed in 1995, changing the name to Kapanga and the line-up to include Miguel (Maiquel) on guitars and vocals, Claudio (Maffia) on drums and vocals, and Mariano (el Príncipe) on keyboards.

Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce Knowles
Feeling pretty smug with yourself Beyonce? Well we have to admit getting to the top of the US singles chart for a seventh time with “Check on It”is no small achievement. It also means that Nelly has been knocked off the top spot after Grillzing it up for two weeks. Beyonce will be loving the way her solo career has turned out so far and she’s already spent more time at No. 1 on her own than she did with Destiny’s Child. This week will make it eighteen in total with her three top No. 1 hits so far…

Don\'t Phunk With My Heart You're Beautiful Pt.2 Everyday I Love You Less Less Pt.2 XY

The Black Eyed Peas were hailed as the real success story by some, but neither James Blunt, nor Robbie Williams will be too unhappy with their results. Scooping the best newcomer bodes well for the stylish crooner as he looks forward to picking up some more awards at the Brits, where alongside the Kaiser Chiefs, James B has been nominated a record five times. Coldplay are up for four, that’s one more than Madonna who’ll hopefully not mix the dates up for this ceremony…

Hung Up on Madonna

Mad Guy Ritchie? How does she do it? Madonna, the Queen of Pop, is topping the global charts yet again. But recently she has been dogged by rumours of a split with film-director husband Guy Ritchie. She has angrily rejected the recent claims that their marriage is on the rocks, after she uncharacteristically cancelled a live performance at the Cannes festival.

But let’s be honest. Who could blame the guy for being just a tad embarrassed of his wife’s last work-out pop video, Hung Up, even if a lot of us do seem to love it. She’s surely showing her age a little in the lycra. We’re all for a good warm-up stretch, but stretch-marks? More of an acquired taste perhaps. She’s an amazing lady, Madonna, don’t get me wrong. But will she face the challenge of growing old gracefully, rather than trying to re-invent herself one too many times and pulling a proverbial muscle.
